Reflection
I'm glad I've had the chance to learn about this technique. I think it is very innovative, creative and effective. I would definitely use it if I were a teacher. First of all it circulates around dialogue, which is very suitable for the human nature. It provokes many senses and cognitive functions of students, such as metacognition, effective self expression, communication skills and teamwork skills. It helps students to become expert readers and the strategies are easy for students to apply to themselves and continue practising on their own. I think it also helps with managing students with varying reading abilities. Consisting groups of varying students will help to balance the differences and it will also make them engage in social learning. Though there are some contradictions possible for our current education system. This technique is not easy to use in crowded classrooms as it might get very noisy and time consuming.
